HowTo

Here we will describe to you how the bc5 series clamps work.

We will explain it in a series of videos.

1. Introduction

At the essence, the clamps are an extension of commercial clamping devices such as C & F-clamps, vise, ...

The bottom clamp is a fixed clamp while the top clamp absorbs the multiplied force to redirect it to the bend.

Note that the bottom clamp will absorb a lot of force, therefore its base has to be solid.

2. HowTo: Normal bend

We will start with the most easy way of using the clamps.

Note that if the plate gets larger, the vise will become a problem.

Nonetheless, this setup uses the full power of the vise.

3. HowTo: Assymetrical bend

So if the bend needs to be further up the plate, we need to bend assymmetrical with the vise.

4. HowTo: Table mounted

If no vise is available or you need the full width of the clamps, the bottom clamp has holes to mount it on bars.

This setup is only for plates up to 3mm.

5. HowTo: Horizontal setup

Another way of using the full width of the clamps is by using the horizontal setup. This setup needs an extra piece. This kind of setup is ideal for bending plastics while heating up the bend with a hot air blower.
